Valley Teases Their New Album With An Energetic Tour

The Lost in Translation Tour Visits DC

Date: April 30th, 2023

Venue: The Fillmore Silver Spring

Silver Spring, MD

Some bands plan elaborate rollouts of an album and tease new music forever but Canadian four-piece pop group Valley wanted to waste no time as they decided to tour an album before it even releases. Lost in Translation is due to release on June 23rd, 2023 but the accompanying tour kicked off in April. You could also make the case that this may just be part one of the tour as they’ll wrap up shortly before the album releases, meaning a part two tour would be a great way to celebrate once out in the wild. Lead singer Rob Laska even teased this idea while on stage.

While it has barely been a year since they released their last album Last Birthday (The After Party) it’s very clear this group is hitting their stride and imprinting their name across music. Their catchy pop rhythms blended with “happy-sad vibe” songs pair well in a live space. During their show, every member of the four-piece band moved around the stage with enthusiasm and excitement. Including drummer and vocalist Karah James as she stepped away from the drums as they performed “CHAMPAGNE.”

Every second of this show is filled with energy that exudes positivity and electricity. Even a slower song such as “Good, but not together” provides an energy and connection to the music fans will love. It’s a show that is truly filled with talent and just pure fun. Plus, we love a good synchronized crowd squat and jump moment much like that found in the middle of “nevermind.”

There are few shows that flow as seamlessly as Valley on this tour. Transitions from one song to the next are an art to be admired themselves as they are so well done and the fun feels as though it doesn’t have to stop.

Whether you get A Phone Call in Amsterdam or not, plan to Have A Good Summer and have their new album on repeat and grab your tickets now to this tour!

Fun Fact: The band actually formed accidentally. In 2014 there was a double booking of a recording studio which led to both bands meeting, connecting, and eventually forming Valley!

Joining Valley on this tour in DC was Aidan Bissett. While many may know this Florida singer/songwriter for his social media hits, he’s also been making waves with his most recent EP I’m Alright If You’re Ok. It features his hit “Tripping Over Air” and it’s clear his fans are also falling for him as the crowd cheers with excitement and giddy for the stylish indie pop singer. His most recent single “Out Of My League” is proving to be one that’s sure to be heard on the radio throughout the summer. While his music releases date back to 2020, he’s in the process of creating and soon releasing some new music as he works towards a debut album.

One of those songs we were treated to during his set was the unreleased “Ultra Violet.” Be sure to give him a follow and keep an eye and ear out for new music and announcements.
