Reverend Peyton Talks Touring and Dance Songs for Hard Times

If you’re a fan of Americana and the blues, then chances are you’re familiar with Reverend Peyton. The Rev is the lead guitarist, lead vocalist, and primary songwriter for the three-piece American country blues band The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band. He is also considered to be the premier finger picker playing today. With a rootsy, country blues style, the band has been nominated for two Blues Music Awards and has become known as the greatest front porch blues band in the world.

Since making a mark on the music world with The Pork ‘N’ Beans Collection, The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band has earned a reputation for being compelling and charismatic live performers touring everywhere and anywhere including huge festivals like Glastonbury and Van’s Warped Tour. Of course, that all came to a screeching halt as the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the world. Unsure of what lay ahead for the band, they devoted time to a live stream and working on their latest album Dance Songs for Hard Times. Released in April of 2021, the record is a brilliant collection of tunes that scream despair but also sing in celebration. It’s a perfect companion for anyone going through a rough patch and needs both an outlet and a pick-me-up. Hard times may come and go so why not dance through them.
