Lullabies for Parents vol 1, album  Rosie Thomas. Great concept, great production. I am no longer the parent of young children, but I still enjoyed every song on this album. Rosie’s sweet voice just calms everything down and makes it feel better.  Part of a whole multimedia platform of resources, entertainment, and encouragement for parents of all ages with music, podcast, videos, essays, and community. With a slew of collaborators like the Shins, Josh Ottam, Lilly Thomas, and Mama Dede the album is brilliant. Video on YouTube. Stream on Spotify. rosiethomas.com

Tempting Fate, is an album by Carolyn Wonderland. Wonderland manages to pull off the best ever grab-your-gut electric blues, heartfelt ballads,  cosmic country, and soulful Tex-Mex while vocally winking at you.  She is amazing in the ten songs in this album.  I especially love “Texas Girl and her Boots”, and you will too. On all platforms.

The Waiting Room, single by Binx. Binx steps out of her pop-love-song comfort zone on this and the result is spectacular.  Fans will resonate with her curling South African accent, but this is no pop candy of a song – it examines the time limbo so many of us get caught in.  And then she steps away from the song and talks to us directly. I could die happy now.  On all major platforms.

Uh Oh, a single by Maggie Szabo. Wow. Every day Canadian native Maggie Szabo’s star burns brighter and this one kicks it up a few million degrees. Uh Oh brings the disco ball into your headphones with a nod to Brittany, but with her magical songwriting that manages to be both bouncy and thoughtful at the same time.  Play this one at your next party, or just for yourself.  No wonder she has 27 million streams on Spotify.  Release date 4.22.22 on all platforms.
