Flying Cars, Spinning Saw Blades, and Enough Pyro To Blow Up Charlotte
The Ehrlich Brothers Bring a Night of Magic and Illusions to Ovens Auditorium
Magic! Who doesn’t need a little more magic in their life? When I first heard that a magic show was coming to town, I had to admit that it wasn’t on my top list of things to do. My first thought was an old man in a cape pulling a rabbit out of a hat in front of a group of rather bored children. But then I saw the promotional video for the Ehrlich Brothers, and boy, was I wrong!
This isn’t your typical birthday party magician or your great uncle’s card tricks. The Ehrlich Brothers brought Diamonds-The Mind-Blowing Magic Show Tour to Charlotte, and it was lit! This isn’t just a magic show, folks. It is a night of illusions, the likes of which you have never seen before. Think Harry Houdini. Think David Copperfield. Think Criss Angel. And then, think bigger, and then you have a bit of an idea of exactly what the Ehrlich Brothers bring to the table.
The brothers, Andreas and Chris, got their magical start early in life, creating illusions and tricks with their father in Germany. Now, their magic has grown to worldwide acclaim with a team of 35 people who help their creative process come to life. The brothers are larger than life in their home country and have just embarked on their very first tour here in the United States, and let me tell you, this is something you don’t want to miss.
There were two giant video screens on each side of the stage showing a video and a countdown to the start of the show. Once that clock showed zero and the show began with a bang, literally. This show spared no expense with top-notch production in every aspect. Now, I have been to hundreds of concerts and rock shows over the years, and this magic show was right up there production-wise. In fact, the Ehrlich Brothers are the rock stars of the magic world.
We had fantastic lighting, great music to accompany the show, tons of pyro, flamethrowers, giant props, scenery changes, and confetti. This was definitely visually appealing in every way, which added to the overall experience.
So what about the magic? The Ehrlich Brothers showcased a variety of illusions and magic tricks throughout the night. The show began with the brothers appearing in a giant iPad and magically moving over to a huge white box to make their first appearance of the evening as explosions, fireworks, and pyro went off around them.
Some of the other fantastic illusions included Chris disappearing on a motorcycle, Andreas being sawed in half by a huge spinning saw blade surrounded by an epic Grim Reaper, bending steel with their minds, and the grand finale, which had both brothers levitate a Lamborghini. There was even a little sex appeal as a lovely assistant danced around a bound-up Chris before putting her leg through his stomach. Ladies and gentlemen, this was a show!
Of course, there were lighter moments when a huge candy-making machine made an appearance, complete with candy spewing out to the kids in the audience. Both brothers were quick to make jokes and get the audience involved in the performance. In fact, the audience participation was really great to see, and one lucky person saw his $10 bill turned into a $100 bill. Note to the Ehrlich Brothers: feel free to use whatever you find in my purse to practice. We even had one happily married couple get special seats on the stage during the bending of the railroad tracks, which were turned into a lovely steel heart.
There were also some tender moments throughout the night. Because their late father played such a big part in their career, the brothers dedicated an illusion to his memory in what was truly a touching moment as they spoke of love and life.
The evening surpassed my expectations in every way. We laughed, we cried, and we were completely amazed as our minds were blown with each illusion that Andreas and Chris performed. Diamonds: The Mind-Blowing Magic Show Tour did not disappoint. Don’t miss this one! There are still tour dates left, and if you don’t see a show near you, don’t fear. The Ehrlich Brothers announced that they will be back in the U.S. in 2026! I personally can not wait!
Do you believe in magic? Come out to a show and experience the Ehrlich Brothers for yourself. They may just make a believer out of you.

Thank you for the sensible critique. Me and my neighbor were just preparing to do some research about this. We got a grab a book from our local library but I think I learned more from this post. I am very glad to see such fantastic information being shared freely out there.
