Your Chance for Luv 4ever

J.I.D. and Smino bring the Luv Is 4ever tour to the Fillmore Charlotte

Keeping busy here in 2023 with a massive tour in support of his latest album The Forever Story, J.I.D is headed out on the Luv is 4ever tour where he and Smino have been co-headlining this 32-city outing and they are just getting started. The tour finds its way to Charlotte on February 24th at The Fillmore Charlotte and you can expect this high-energy duo to keep the crowd moving.

Speaking of high energy check out J.I.D. and his performance of Stick at last year’s Dreamville fest.

Born and raised in East Atlanta, Grammy-nominated JID grew up on his parents’ collection of classic funk/soul LPs and broke onto the scene with his 2015 EP, DiCaprio. The EP saw him collaborating with hip-hop duo EARTHGANG, whom he’d previously joined on a 2014 tour and this is where he was spotted by J.Cole who promptly signed JID to his label Dreamville Records. JID’s nimble, head-nodding lyricism and lightning-fast flow have awarded him a loyal and cult-like fanbase and his dedication to perfecting the art is sportsman-like, leaving room for him to be one of rap’s greatest in the making.

Joining J.I.D on this tour is St. Louis rapper, Smino. Known for his soulful, genre-blurring sound and his ability to effortlessly switch between singing and rapping, Smino has been making waves in the rap world since his debut mixtape, blkjuptr, dropped in 2016. Christened “one of hip-hop’s most refreshing voices” by Pitchfork, Smino is one of the game’s most dynamic musical disruptors. With strong ties and multiple collaborations with J.I.D., Earthgang, and other Dreamville artists, Smino’s time on the Luv is 4ever tour may feel more like a family affair than just another tour.

If you are a fan of hip-hop you will definitely have had J.I.D. catch your ear with his solo work, collaborations, and his stand-out performances amongst a sea of heavy hitters and labelmates on Dreamville. Pair that up with Smino and you can expect a night of top-notch music and a show that you won’t forget. J.I.D and Smino’s Luv is 4ever tour is shaping up to be one of the most exciting tours of the year and your chance to catch this tour here locally will be February 24th at The Fillmore Charlotte

Photographer Josh Gooch is a North Carolina native and a graduate of Appalachian State, Josh Gooch works in education, teaching graphic design at the community college level. Photography became a passion during his college career, and remained a constant addition to the ever-present soundtrack of life. Privileged to have turned an ear to hip-hop at a young age, after developing a love of music from ‘80s radio, Josh found that the revelation of rock music in high school was what led him to really devote serious amounts of attention to music. From there it was that first club show that sparked an addiction to live music and the exposure to various forms of it during the college years, cementing a love of passion and truth in music. Now, with the ability to combine the passions of photography and music, he hopes to continue to develop a creative voice that others appreciate.
