With a Wide Variety of Genres, the 54th Summerfest Offers Something for Everyone

The 75-acre Henry Maier Festival Park, located in Milwaukee on the shore of Lake Michigan, is the place to see over 800 bands perform on 11 stages over three long weekends at the end of June and early July 2022. This is an opportunity for families, friends, and music fans to enjoy a variety of music genres and eat some of the best festival food Wisconsin offers. And there is always quite a selection of beer and non-alcoholic beverages to choose from.

There is a children’s stage and park with a playground, a sports zone featuring a variety of sports including Division BMX Stunt Team, ten ground stages, plus the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. The location is also super easy to access by public transportation or you can park your own vehicle in the multiple available parking lots. Almost all of the time slots for performing bands are booked with just a few left to be named. Summerfest does a great job booking fantastic local, regional, and national bands.

The three-weekend format returns: 06/23 – 25, 06/30 – 07/02, and 07/07 – 07/09/22 Summerfest continues its long three-weekend format as part of its fiscal management by eliminating the historically less profitable days of the week. Those of us who attended the 53rd Summerfest, last September, experienced the three long weekend format for the first time. While some people were hesitant about the change from the former eleven-day format, many found they liked having the long weekend format better because it gave everyone time to rest up to rock out the following weekend.

Summerfest says they have a ticket for every kind of visit and they mean what they say as options range from American Family Insurance Amphitheater tickets, which include entrance into the Summerfest grounds. The Festival Multi-Day Passes (excluding American Family Insurance Amphitheater headliners) options range from a Power Pass for all days of Summerfest @ $125, or a 6 Day pass for your choice of days @ $105, or a 3 Day pass of your choice @ $60. Another option is The Single Day Pass (excludes American Family Insurance Amphitheater headliners) @ $25, or the Premium Experience (also excludes American Family Insurance Amphitheater headliners) which provides reserved seating for specific BMO Harris Pavilion or Upper Deck Seating for specific Miller Lite Oasis shows at various prices. Lastly, Summerfest also has parking pass options for Lot P.

First weekend performers include
Jason Aldean, Justin Bieber, Wu-Tang Clan, Lil Wayne, and Wiz Khalifa are at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. Ground stage performers include Jason Isbell And The 400 Unit, Anthrax, Barenaked Ladies, Lita Ford, Jimmie Vaughan, Dustin Lynch, Steve Miller Band, The Record Company, and Ann Wilson.

Second-weekend performers include
Disturbed, Lamb of God, Chevelle, Machine Gun Kelly, Avril Lavigne, and Halsey at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. Ground stage performers include The Wailers, Todd Rundgren, The Fixx, Stone Temple Pilots, Buffalo Nichols, Jackie Venson, BoDeans, The Commodores, and The Revivalists.

Final weekend performers include
Rod Stewart, Cheap Trick, Backstreet Boys, Thomas Rhett, and Ryan Hurd at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. Ground stage performers include Foghat, John Fogerty, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Boyz II Men, The Black Crowes, and The Cult.
