‘Tis the Season for Holiday Shows and We’ve Got Our Top Picks For You

Christmas is right around the corner and what better way to get in the mood for the holiday season than to experience the magic of Christmas music? There are a ton of holiday shows going on here in Charlotte and across the country with everything from rock to the traditional theater and even a drag show. Here’s a sampling of some of our favorites for this season. 

Trans-Siberian Orchestra 2022 Winter Tour

This huge holiday extravaganza is a favorite of my own family and is really a one-of-a-kind experience. Taking a rock and roll flavor to holiday classics, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra brings world-class musicians and a stage show that is out of this world. All the lights, lasers, and special effects will really bring a little Christmas magic to you and yours. The band will be playing two shows in Charlotte at the Spectrum Center on December 10th.

Debbie Gibson Winterlicious Tour

With her 1987 debut album Out of the Blue, pop singer Debbie Gibson quickly won over the hearts of America with catchy hits “Only In My Dreams” and “Foolish Beat.” The talented singer is all grown up and has recently released her very first-holiday album Winterlicious with covers of traditional Christmas songs and some brand-new holiday songs of her own. Debbie is out on the road in support of the new album, sprinkling Christmas cheer everywhere. The Winterlicious Tour rolls into Charlotte tonight at the Booth Playhouse wrapping up on the 17th of December in Jacksonville, Fl.

The Lindsey Stirling Snow Waltz Tour

American violinist, songwriter, and dancer Lindsey Stirling is going for it all in 2022 with a brand new album Snow Waltz and an accompanying tour. Stirling’s shows are always unique, bringing the best music, dance, and stage shows carefully choreographed to her music. The Snow Waltz Tour is sure to put a smile on your face and fill your heart with the Christmas spirit. The tour runs through the end of the year capping off on New Year’s Eve at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

for King & Country A Drummer Boy Christmas

The Christian pop duo of Joel and Luke Smallbone is bringing their very special Christmas show to a town near you. If you’ve ever experienced a for King & Country show live, then you know what a special treat it is. The band brings it all with soul-stirring music and a stage show that will delight fans of all ages. The drum is always a big part of their show and I’m sure they will pull out all the stops for this very special A Drummer Boy Christmas tour. The tour makes a stop in Greensboro, NC this Sunday, December 11th at Greensboro Coliseum and finishes up the holiday season in Nashville on the 19th.

Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet

This is a show for the traditionalists out there because there really is nothing more traditional at Christmas than spending an evening at the ballet to see the one and only Nutcracker performed live.  You can expect to see some of the world’s greatest dancers along with holiday music, gorgeous costumes, and more. The tour is heading to Charlotte o December 16th at Ovens Auditorium and should be a must-see on your holiday list.

Charlotte Symphony Holiday Pops

The Charlotte Symphony under the direction of Conductor Christopher James Lees, will once again be bringing its holiday pops series to Knight Theatre December 16th -18th. The show will feature all your favorite holiday classics with a few surprises including snow and a visit from Santa. This is fun for the whole family and a holiday tradition in the making.

‘Twas the Drag Show Before Christmas

If you’re tired of the traditional Christmas fare, then you might want to check out ‘Twas the Drag Show Before Christmas for something definitely different. This drag queen Christmas extravaganza will have you smiling, laughing, and spreading love this holiday season. The show features the FA-LA-LABULOUS Queen of the Queen City Buff Faye and friends for an evening you don’t want to miss. The show hits the Fillmore Charlotte on December 18th.
