The Paranoyds announce a new record deal and sophomore album

A lot has happened with this Los Angeles-based, female-led, low-fi punk quartet since their debut record release show at the Bootleg Theater (may it rest in peace) in LA on November 15th, 2019. Since then, they have toured the U.S. relentlessly in support of that record, Carnage Bargain, gaining fans one by one with live shows that always kick harder than the studio mixes of the tracks it contains. They used their time wisely when the world shut down in 2020 to continue to work on new music, releasing a 7-inch vinyl EP in late 2020 (Pet Cemetary/Hotel Celebrity). Each show brought a menagerie of madness that has now led up to their opening for Jack White and signing with White’s own Third Man Records.

The Paranoyds’ second record, Talk, Talk, Talk, is to be released on September 9th, 2022 on their new label. It is available for pre-order on vinyl and CD as well as pre-add options on streaming music services. The lead single, “Lizzie,” is available for streaming now. “Lizzie” continues the delightfully oddball aura they seized on their first record with songs such as “Heather Doubtfire.”

If Sleater-Kinney, Bikini Kill, The Go-Gos, and Blondie had children, The Paranoyds would be the amazing result. Look for them on tour in 2022 and 2023 anywhere from a local dive bar to a classy theater. Unpredictability remains one of this band’s greatest assets. Upcoming appearances include opening spots for Jack White in Asheville, NC on September 16th and New Orleans, LA on September 23rd.

In the meantime, follow their Twitter and Instagram for updates.
