Killakoi Awakens the Beast Within with Brand New Single “Better Off Dead”

It’s been more than a year since the entire world stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic, forcing us into uncharted waters for the first time in recent history. The future became quite uncertain. Would we ever get back to life as we knew it? Nowhere is this more true than in the world of music. With the curtain being pulled on live shows for an indefinite amount of time, musicians came face to face with a new forced reality.

Things were not all gloom and doom, however, and as they say the show must go on. Thankfully, many bands took the last year to reach new creative heights, reinventing themselves, and coming up with some of the best material of their careers. Enter North Carolina based band Killakoi. With a new lineup recently revealed, and a brand new song and video, Killakoi is back and poised to pick up exactly where they left off-rocking our proverbial asses off!

“Better Off Dead” has the vocals of frontman Jordan Nicholas Mattachione front and center. Sounding better than ever, he easily transitions from a mellow vibe to an all-out rocker at will. The new lineup and song feature the addition of Kelly Flusk on guitar. Fans will recognize her from her work in other area bands like Something Clever and Pretty Hate Machine and her long-term friendship and working relationship with the band makes her an excellent fit. This move takes former guitarist Robbie Reimer behind the kit, handling the drum duties. Bass guitarist Sam Ocheltree and Ethan Gibbons on The Kage round out the lineup. With a catchy melody and sing out loud chorus, “Better Off Dead” will have you on your feet and begging for more. Add in top-notch songwriting and state-of-the-art production and it’s easy to see why Killakoi is at the top of the pack. All this and I didn’t even mention the zombies!
