Blues-Rock Guitarist Chats About New Self-Titled Album

If you’re a fan of “loud ass guitars and no-fucks given rock ‘n roll,” then you are going to love the new self-titled album from Jared James Nichols. In today’s digital world, it’s not often that we encounter an artist who still embraces the old-school vibe of the early years of blues-driven rock and roll. JJN’s music is raw and gritty and he makes no apologies for it. Not that he should, it’s top-notch in every way. From mind-blowing riffs and leads that can burn down a building to his signature, unfiltered vocal stylings, Jared is one of a kind. Have you ever heard someone use the expression “make that guitar talk?” If you’re not sure what it means, just take a listen to Nichols’s new album. There you have it, that’s what it means. JJN’s guitar playing is full of passion, power, and raw emotion. With each bend of the string, his music pulls at you and it’s just something that you have to hear to experience. It’s amazing to hear the magic that comes out of his Gibson Les Paul.

From the first words, “blow your mind”, of the opening song “My Delusion,” you just know you’re in for one hell of a ride. There are lots of different flavors sprinkled in on the album, one of my favorites being the grooving tempos of “Good Time Girl” and the slow burn of “Down The Drain.” And if you want to hear Nichols take it to an entirely new level, try “Hallelujah” to have your mind seriously blown. Along with the new record, Jared James Nichols will be heading out on the road with five U.S. dates to kick things off followed by a European run.
