Ed Sheeran’s Divide Tour Does a 2nd Round in the US

Ed Sheeran’s Divide Tour Does a 2nd Round in the US for his North American Stadium Tour

Live shows and tours are a must for any great artist. It’s the best chance to promote your album and connect directly with your fan base. If you’re lucky, you’ll even get to throw some overseas dates on your calendar.

Then you have what Ed Sheeran does.

Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Divide) tour started its second US leg last month. Ed doesn’t just tour… no, he world tours (for almost two years mind you). So you’ve got multiple chances to see your favorite songs sung right to you, live in the flesh. This leg is a stadium tour so Ed is doing it big willy style, hitting stadiums across the country.

That’s testament to his fans that he can comfortably book stadiums because his last round, the sunset was seeking out venues. It’s like the song that never ends but in tour form, and we actually want it to go on and on. Why not? With so many great songs on this album, is it really a bad thing? Divide is Ed Sheeran’s third one million-selling album, certifying him as a guaranteed hit maker. I don’t think anyone was able to sidestep the TLC No Scrubs inspired lead single “Shape of You” last year.

It was EVERYWHERE, all over the radio airwaves and was pretty much inescapable. It helped Divide ended up winning a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album, and it was one of the best selling albums in 2017. His music crosses genres with songs that include hip hop, pop, R&B, and bits and pieces from varying cultures. For example there’s the track,  Galway Girl, which features (and was in part written about one of their band members!) the the Irish band, Beoga and samples heavily from Irish folk music.

Completely different from the their usual pop music we hear. Nothing beats the song “Dive though. Every artist has that one love song that knocks it out the park. That song that his a little too close to home for you, and pull at your heart strings. This track shows his writing skills with lyrics like ”I could fall, or I could fly/Here in your aeroplane/And I could live, I could die/Hanging on the words you say.” The words read like poetry, and the hook itself gets me every time.

Vocally he sings it way more gritty than I’m used to with Sheeran: “So don’t call me baby,Unless you mean it/Don’t tell me you need me, If you don’t believe it/So let me know the truth/Before I dive right into you.” Now imagine him singing those words to you LIVE?! See, this is why you need to get your ticket! He’ll be supported by the band Snow Patrol for most days, mixing it up with Anne Marie and Lauv towards the end of the tour. The dates are mostly set for major stadiums and he’s got a knack for selling out so don’t wait, go get your tickets here and check the dates below for when he’s in your area!
