Art Alexakis of Everclear Talks 30 Years of World of Noise
Ever since their 1993 debut, alternative rock band Everclear has become synonymous with the 90s’ sound. Led by founder, vocalist, and guitarist Art Alexakis, the band has sold over six million albums and achieved 12 Top 40 hits with classic alt-rock songs “Santa Monica,” “Father of Mine,” and “I Will Buy You a New Life.” 2022 has been a milestone year for Everclear marking their 30th anniversary as a band and also of their eponymous debut album World of Noise. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the band has released World of Noise-30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, a specially remastered edition of the out-of-print classic, and has made it available for digital streaming for the first time ever. The new edition features all 12 original tracks plus six bonus songs including my favorite “Nervous & Weird 2001 Remix.”
Earlier this summer, the band also took off on their 30th Anniversary Tour, with 25 dates across the country and a slew of festival dates as well. Shutter 16 had the opportunity to catch up with Art while out on tour and get his thoughts on the World of Noise album as well as the tour.
