New show announcement: Wilco at The Amp Ballantyne

CHARLOTTE, NC — MaxxMusic, Midwood Entertainment and The Amp Ballantyne are excited to announce that Wilco will be performing at The Amp Ballantyne on May 15, 2025. This is the band’s first public show in Charlotte since 2007 and is happening in conjunction with the PGA Championship being held at Quail Hollow Club from May 12 through May 18, 2025. Yacht Rock Revue will be performing at The Amp on the preceding night, May 14, 2025.

Presales for the artist fan club will begin on Aug. 14, 2024. Public on sale is Aug. 16, 2024 at 10 a.m.  

Wilco is an American rock band formed in 1994 by the remaining members of alt-country group, Uncle Tupelo. The band’s current lineup is: singer/guitarist Jeff Tweedy, bassist John Stirratt, drummer Glenn Kotche, keyboardist/samples Mikael Jorgensen, guitarist Nels Cline and keyboardist/guitarist Pat Sansone.

The band’s 13th full-length album, Cousin, was released in 2023. On June 28, 2024, they released the six-song EP, Hot Sun Cool Shroud. 

The Amp Ballantyne, located at 11115 Upper Avenue in the Southern part of Charlotte, North Carolina, is a 5,000-person capacity outdoor music venue with a reserved seating area and general admission lawn. (https://www.ampballantyne.com/)

The leader of the pack, shutter16.fam, head photographer and brain schemer has been a Charlotte based concert photographer since early 2002. Her passion for photography was cultivated by her grandfather, a very well known and decorated war photographer who put the first camera in her very small hands at the age of three.
