Trombome Shorty & Orleans Avenue PLUS War On Drugs, at the Fillmore!
Two legends, two nights, one city!
It’s not often that a hidden gem of a legend comes through your town, meaning we have to take advantage of when it does happen! Luckily, that’s happening to the Queen city not once, but TWICE this week!
First up: The War On Drugs. Taking over the Fillmore stage first this week is PA’s pride and joy in the indie scene. With their latest A Deeper Understanding still making its way through the airwaves and charts for a solid month, this is the time and place to see the band’s ridiculously sick live set.
Round two of hidden gem legends begins the very next night, with the one and only Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews & Orleans Avenue hitting up the Fillmore Charlotte; somehow the group is still a quote-unquote hidden gem. Though he belongs in larger venues, it will be an absolute treat to see the talents of the Louisiana clan in the beautiful, chandelier-clad Fillmore. Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue create an atmosphere of genres you can’t even name: “hard-edged funk, hip-hop beats, rock dynamics and improvisation in the great tradition of jazz. A/k/a supafunkrock.” Who doesn’t want to be front row for that?
