Pierce The Veil’s Late Night Party At Mercury Ballroom

Pierce The Veil’s Late Night Party At Mercury Ballroom

With Louisville, Kentucky being the center of attention for Louder Than Life Festival 2017, Pierce The Veil had their eyes on getting their first ever sold out show in the Bluegrass State, with the stage being at Louisville’s own, Mercury Ballroom; a small but very effective venue in downtown Louisville. The party had already begun outside with a line stretching an entire city block, getting the tally for 900+ tickets sold! The party wouldn’t just be on the streets as doors opened and patrons began to flood the merch booths and bar; however die hard fans would rush the rails to the front of the venue right on the stage for the show.

First up to the stage was local band Light Treasons lead by Rob Diver. A fan favorite from the metropolitan area, these guys were primed for a electric show that even I was floored by. “We have a lot of bands from this city, but none can deliver the energy and clean style of Light Treasons,” said one fan.

I spoke with the man himself Rob at their merch booth briefly and made sure he knew how blown away we all were by this performance. This band will most definitely be one to keep eyes on in the future, as the sound of these guys could blend so well opening for any band let alone Pierce The Veil.

Personally these guys can begin headlining shows soon with the way they perform. Watch out for Light Treasons in a city/venue near you!

As I began walking around to meet the adoring fans of Pierce The Veil, I asked them if this was their first show, how many times have they seen them, who’s their favorite member etc. I was shocked to actually hear that many had never been to a PTV show ever! Some of them had caught them last tour through the city. The space between bodies quickly filled up at the clock hit 11:50pm and the lights grew more and more dim, it was time.

Lights went dark, fans began screaming, the ground literally shook. Mike, Vic, Tony and Jaime walked out and took their respective places and the first chord was struck. Immediately the entire room was in the air jumping, and reaching for their favorite band.

These fans were some of the most crazy and loyal fans I’ve ever come across. Many shouting at the guys by name with “I love you’s” and “marry me.” The adrenaline filled and high energy playing had only just begun as Vic was zoned in on this sold out crowd, letting us all know how much they appreciated the turnout. “I am pretty fucking sure this is our first sold out show in Kentucky and it’s here with all of you beautiful people, so thank you so much!”

As The screams filled the room, Jaime Preciado jumped to the front of the stage and cupped his ears, welcoming the screams even more as they played ‘The Divine Zero” and going right into “Today I Saw The Whole World.” The band and their fans never once relented on the energy and raw emotion poured from the Mercury Ballroom floor. I haven’t seen such a performance from a band like this in a while.

I would leave this show with some partial hearing loss and that’s how you know you’ve been to a kick ass rock show! These San Diego rockers have made their presence known and felt here in Louisville, Kentucky at Mercury Ballroom for an amazing and killer sold out show.

If you haven’t had a chance to see these guys live you’re missing out; if you have had a chance and just didn’t do it, shame on you because it is one to not be missed. Never be afraid to buy that ticket to see a band. Always remember there is good in this world still. Get that ticket. Go to that show. And get lost in the music.
