News: Soilwork complete new album

New music from Soilwork on the horizon!

By: Caleb Kerns

Swedish metal group Soilwork announced that they have officially finished recording the follow-up to their 2015 album The Ride Majestic. The band recorded the currently untitled album at Nordic Sound Lab studios in Skara, Sweden, and will be the eleventh full-length addition to their discography. Vocalist Björn “Speed” Strid says that “on this new album, we have gone back to classic heavy metal basics but with a twist of our own legacy of sound, with soaring melancholic melodies at a sometimes furious tempo and great diversity.”

This album will be the first to feature newcomer Bastian Thusgaard on drums following the departure of longtime member Dirk Verbeuren, who left the band to join Megadeth in July of 2016. Strid added: “He’s been playing with us live for quite some time, but [it was his] first real recording, and he did really, really good.” The band is known for their high-energy live performances and are already planning a tour in promotion of the release. The album is expected to drop sometime in late 2018 or early 2019 via Nuclear Blast Records.
