New to the Airwaves – Albums Out Today (June 11th)

New to the Airwaves – Albums Out Today (June 11th)

Music is back, we’re talking HUGE! Tours galore have been (re)announced. Bands are coming out of the woodwork we swore we’d not see in the flesh again. Venues are rethinking their layouts and fans in droves are gearing up for the summer of their life. One music fan close to me said, “I’ll attend ANY show, my genre of music or not!” I think that will be the running theme this summer. We never really took music for granted, but we took live music for granted. I, for one, don’t want to miss a single show again.

OH, HEY, concert season preparation crews, it’s finally happening. Let’s get busy! Tons of bands are in full swing announcing their reclaimed  Summer Tours, and we are literally living for it. This seems like the week of summer nostalgia. The talent is endless! Atreyu, Augustana, Kesha, Misterwives, Shinedown (new dates), Hall & Oates, Judas Priest, Leon Bridges, Chelsea Cutler, and Quinn XCII, Foo Fighters, Judas Priest, John Legend, Saint Motel, and Theory of a Deadman (new dates,) to name a few!

This week’s arrivals are sure to find homes on many a playlist, especially with Maroon 5, Migos, AFI, Crowder, Garbage, Kodak Black, and more, dropping full-lengths.

To wrap up this week, we’ve got some much-anticipated arrivals that have us tapping our toes, crossing our arms, and screeching, “Finally!” We’re sure you can see which ones we think you should grab and which ones we think may deserve a pass (cough Exodus by DMX cough)… Dive in at your own risk, and let’s hear your picks!

**All dates are for U.S. releases unless otherwise noted. Dates are subject to change.

New Video Out:

“Last Train Home,” featuring Maren Morris from John Mayer’s upcoming album ‘Sob Rock’ out June 16th.

The 80s inspired video and track flashback to a different musical landscape—Heavy Toto vibes within the opening. The chorus and even what seems to be the lacing of the chords – while simplistic as you continue to listen, you find the depths. To have the skill set to do massive guitar solos and the vocality to belt notes with such restraint shows maturity. As well, this is some fabulousness going on with the new release. The past couple of years, he’s put out a few singles with no home; you can read about that here. They are now housed in a subtly placed fringe and big hair on Sob Rock. I cannot wait to dance, cry, and rock in the photo pit this coming concert season. He’s currently on the road with Dead and Company, and a new tour is undoubtedly right around the corner.
