Boygenius, the mega-feeling supergroup

Does anyone else daydream about your favorite songwriters joining forces for a wild collaboration you know will never happen? And then you wake up one morning to an Instagram post of said favs hanging out… and then they tease music together… and you have to pinch yourself.

Welcome to my Tuesday morning, when Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, and Lucy Dacus dropped not one, but three new songs from their mega-feeing side project entitled Boygenius. The trio revealed “Bite The Hand”, “Me & My Dog”, and “Stay Down”, three tracks that are filled with intricate harmonies and everything we love about Bridgers, Baker, and Dacus.

The singles showcases lead vocals from each musician; Dacus takes the lead on “Bite The Hand”, a song with an eerily upbeat refrain: “I can’t love you like you want me to”; Bridgers’ soft vocals can be found on “Me & My Dog”, and Baker on “Stay Down”. The songs sound exactly like you think they would sound, but in the best way. Like each songwriter brought their individual artistry to the table, and sewed a little bit of the other’s into the seams of the song.

Alongside the new singles, the group announced a Fall tour set to take off in Nashville starting early November. Though the tour promotes the artists individually, there’s no doubt they will come together for some Boygenius magic.

You can find all three tracks below, and tour dates here!
