Live Nation Presents: Thirty Seconds to Mars – The Monolith Tour
The Monolith Tour:
The Los Angeles based rock act Thirty Seconds To Mars kicked off their latest tour Monolith Wednesday June 6, 2018 in North America beginning in Toronto, Canada and making coveted stops at Hartford Connecticut’s Xfinity Center and PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, North Carolina. The band is bringing along with them some heavy hitters in the musical game.
Walk the Moon, a Cincinnati based band whom has blown through your car speakers at one point or another with top tracks including “One Foot” and “Shut Up and Dance” will be in tow for the debauchers of the Monolith Tour. Deriving the band name in 2006 while a student at Kenyon College lead singer Nicholas Petricca derived the bands name from the song “Walking on the Moon” by The Police.
From there the band owes their first studio album to RCA Records released in 2012 entitled Walk the Moon. Fast forward to 2014 when the band produced their second album, of which includes songs listed previously, called Shut Up and Dance. So if Jared Leto doesn’t get your booty shaking, Walk the Moon will be sure to have you covered on this tour.
The multi-instrumentalist indie pop group MisterWives, based out of New York will be in tow as well for the Monolith Tour. Formed in late 2012 MisterWives owe their success to the spontaneous idea by lead singer Mandy Lee whom wanted an 80s cover band for her birthday party. She partnered with fellow musicians expanding to the now set up of five members to not only play the party but also their first show at the Canal Room in New York City. Shortly after playing at the Canal Room the band signed with Photo Finish Records fast forwarding to 2014 when the band would release their first EP Reflections which encompassed a raving 5/5 reviews from critics. Basically, if you can imagine a genius and crazy idea that ended up working in a bands favor constantly, you would get the madness that is MisterWives.
Joywave has recently made a comeback with such songs as “Its a Trip” and “Doubt” but the New York based indie band can also be known for such hits as “Dangerous” and “Somebody New”.
Exclusively for the Charlotte show will feature city favorites Sir Sly.
30STM will be highlighting tracks from their latest album America including “Walk on Water” and “Dangerous Night.” America is the fifth studio album by the band but die-hard fans will have remembered memorable songs from the band’s second album A Beautiful Lie including “The Kill” and “Attack.”
It is only hopefully that the band will revisit some of the older as well as the newer songs but you will have to attend one of their shows in order to find out.
