Rufus Wainwright Tour Includes A Stop At New York’s Famed Capitol Theatre

Canadian pop/classical singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright is bringing his show on the road on a tour that will make stops all around North America, including Port Chester, New York’s beloved Capitol Theatre. The Montreal native is the son of folk singers Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle but Rufus has carved out his success on his own unique blend of rock, opera, theater, dance, and film. He was once referred to as “the greatest songwriter on the planet” by Elton John himself and is hailed by the New York Times for his “genuine originality,”. He is considered by many to be one of the greatest singer/songwriters of his time.

Wainwright has released an extensive collection of studio and live albums along with contributions to soundtracks. He’s also a Grammy nominated artist for his Rufus Does Judy At Carnegie Hall, which is a collection of recordings from his powerful and highly celebrated Judy Garland tribute performance at the London Palladium in 2007. He was also nominated for Songwriter of the Year for Release The Stars in 2008.
