Asbury Park, NJ Welcomes Sea.Hear.Now Festival

Inaugural Sea.Hear.Now Festival 2018 (Sept 29th -30th)

2018 has seen quite its fair share of festival announcements, but there is a new one coming to town. Asbury Park in New Jersey  is arguably the capital of the New Jersey music scene, and thanks to the event’s producers, legendary photographer  Danny Clinch and C3 Presents, who are responsible for festivals like Austin City Limits and Lollapalooza, Asbury Park will now welcome the new two day Sea.Hear.Now Festival.

The one of a kind music festival will take place on September 29th and 30th. It features some of the areas best surfers like Quincy Davis, Sam Hammer, Balaram Stack, and more. On the music side is an incredibly impressive line up featuring Jack Johnson, Incubus, Social Distortion, Blondie, Highly Suspect, The Parlor Mob, Deal Casino, Soja, and more. In addition to music and surfing Clinch will recreate his Transparent Gallery space, which will showcase the collection of iconic images featuring the festivals line up.

Sea.Hear.Now aims to bring a celebration of live music, art, and surf culture to the masses. Based on the festivals map, it looks like there will be two stages located on the beach and another located across the street in Bradley Park. This will not only make for a memorable concert experience but also literal fun in the sun.

Incubus – No Fun (Music Video)

One act I’m thrilled to see return to New Jersey, and in the perfect setting for them at that, is Incubus. The guys have been around and rocking all across the globe for almost 30 years, and are no doubt a can’t miss band to see on the line-up.

In 2017 they released their newest album, simply titled 8, and have been out touring in support of it since, with a few dates this summer. As of right now this is the one and only chance for New York and New Jersey to catch them.

Social Distortion – Story of My Life (Music Video)

Social Distortion will be bringing the roots of good ol’ American punk to New Jersey this September. Social D are one of the earliest punk bands from  Orange County, California leading the punk rock army since the early 80s. Social Distortion influenced many grunge bands such as Pearl Jam, as well as an entire generation of rockers.

The band released their first album
Mommy’s Little Monster in 1983, Over the following decades Social Distortion has had different line-up changes and their most recent studio release Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes, was released back in 2011 nothing new since. Either way new album or not getting the opportunity to see Social D in Asbury Park on the beach will make for a iconic day in music!

Highly Suspect – My Name is Human (Official Music Video)

Highly Suspect is without a doubt another can’t miss band on the bill, after they burst onto the rock scene with their 2015 release, Mister Asylum which saw the track “Lydia” take over radio and snagged two Grammy nominations for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Album.

Highly Suspect’s  album success didn’t stop there, the guys released The Boy Who Died Wolf in November of 2016. The albums lead single “My Name Is Human” propelled them to yet another Grammy nomination for, Best Rock Song. Make sure you catch these guys in Asbury Park this September!

Jack Johnson – Big Sur (Live on Jimmy Kimmel)

Jack Johnson is coming back to NJ and he’s headed for the beach of Asbury Park. He will be out supporting his newest record All The Light Above It. The cover of the record shows Jack lying on the beach with his guitar and come September he will be able to do just that.

This sounds like a beautiful location and night in the making for Johnson and his fans. Now is the ideal time to grab your tickets and get ready to kick back and enjoy a day with the sounds of Jack Johnson.

These are just a few of the acts we’re looking forward to seeing this September at Sea.Hear.Now but truth be told the whole line up offers something for everybody. I think everyone including myself who has been going to Asbury Park since I was a child, and many others who love and look forward to the area’s complete revival would agree not only is this a big step in the right direction but also long overdue.

GA and VIP tickets will be available starting TODAY at 10 AM Est, head on over to the festivals official website for more info and to keep up with all future announcements regarding the event. We Hope to see you there!
